The Beyond Breakfast Foundation
Catered Weekly Meals:
Once a week during our journaling session, we’ll serve a hot meal and host an open discussion with mentorship guidance. This time is designed to nourish both mind and emotion — a supportive space where participants can reflect, share experiences, and receive practical advice from mentors. Meals will be provided to ensure everyone is comfortable and able to engage fully. Mentors will facilitate conversation, offer goal-setting tips, and help students translate reflections into action steps for academics, athletics, and mental health. Participants leave fed, heard, and equipped with tools to grow.
Seasonal Event Volunteering:
Throughout the year, Unique Scholars Institute creates numerous volunteer opportunities to support our student scholars. Volunteers play a vital role across our programs — from events and academic tutoring to reading initiatives and performance training support. Whether helping at community events, mentoring during after-school sessions, leading reading circles, or assisting with athletic and performance coaching, volunteers help unlock potential and foster growth in students ages 8–24.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Event support: registration, logistics, hospitality, and attendee engagement for workshops, showcases, and community nights.
Academic tutoring: one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects, homework help, and study-skill coaching.
Reading program facilitation: running reading circles, literacy games, book drives, and paired reading with younger scholars.
Performance & athletic support: assisting coaches, running drills, offering feedback, and supporting safe practice environments.
Mental health & wellness assistance: supporting mindfulness sessions, wellness workshops, and resource distribution (volunteers do not provide clinical care).
College & career prep: mock interviews, resume help, college-application guidance, and vocational skill workshops.
Administrative & outreach roles: data entry, communications help, community outreach, and volunteer coordination.
Volunteer requirements and benefits:
Ages 16+ for most direct-student roles; background checks where required.
Brief orientation and role-specific training provided.
Flexible shifts to accommodate school, work, and family schedules.
Opportunities to build leadership experience, earn community service hours, and connect with local educators and professionals.
